Abstract: Здійснено теоретичні узагальнення методологічних підходів до визначення конкурентоспроможності національної економіки. Розглянуто та проаналізовано існуючі методики оцінки рівня конкурентоспроможності національної економіки, виявлено їх переваги та недоліки. Description: The necessity to estimate the national economy competitiveness for strategic decisionmaking concerning its competitiveness is proved in the article. Theoretical generalization of meth­odological approaches to determining the national economy competitiveness has been executed. Ex­isting techniques to estimate the national economy competitiveness level by means of different ap­proaches have been considered and analyzed. Comparison of index methods of the na­tional economy competitiveness estimation with the basic foreign analytical centre techniques has been conducted. Ratings of countries' competi­tiveness in 2011 have been compared by analytical agencies. It has been specified with a set of indica­tors that the range of the countries' competitive­ness level is different, which testifies the absence of a universal technique of a complex national economy competitiveness estimation. Imperfection of modern methods of the national economy competitiveness estimation and determination of major factors which influence competitiveness of the country have been proved. The basic result of the research is determination of advantages and disadvantages by the ex­isting methods of the national economy competi­tiveness estimation. Domestic and foreign tech­niques of national economy competitiveness esti­mation have been grouped into two approaches. Advantages of techniques to estimate the national economy competitiveness, which consist of the integrated approach to competitiveness and calcu­lation index assessment of the components' aver­age value which display one of aspects of compet­itiveness, have been specified. Lacks of tech­niques of national economy competitiveness esti­mation, the main of which is absence of strategic trends accounting in the competition development among the countries and the national economy structures have been created.
